It wasn’t a hit, but against a reported $10 million budget, Sinister 2 earned more than $54 million. Many awaited the news of a third sequel, Sinister 3. However, they came to decision to terminate the Sinister franchise so it wasn’t produced as it was instead canceled and no longer renewed.

Even though some criticized their use of jump scares, Sinister was well received and obtained a lot positive reviews.
